Frans Hals the Elder is notable for his loose painterly brushwork, and helped introduce this lively style of painting into Dutch art. I realize the book doesn't cost much, however the quality of the images are terrible. They are basically taken off a google search. It's nice having a small catalog of Hals' paintings on my bookshelf, I just wish the images didn't suck.
